Hello friends! As with all book-related posts on My Colorful Wanderings, it’s me Shelbs! I’ve been wanting to share what we’re up to but we’ve just been really busy so writing has taken a backseat recently.
The only thing keeping me sane while I run around and wait on this has been reading? And since I’m a firm believer that reading makes you a better writer.. well… I really did this for you, my friends!!

10 Books Under $10 On Amazon

All of my picks this month are fiction! Some fantasy, some romance, a thriller, and contemporary literature romance as well. I think it’s important to read a wide variety of things so I’m always trying to pick a few different genres and authors.
1. The Bookshop of the Broken Hearted by Robert Hillman
(Paperback Edition)

A 4.5 star rated read, follow Robert Hillman’s tale of a couple in rural Australia in the 1960s. This novel follows the richly described romance of two people whose love and passions drive them to start the first bookshop in town.
2. wilder girls by Rory power
(Paperback Edition)

A young adult thriller about a deadly disease wrapping through an elite boarding school. Trapped on the school’s private island, the girls must find a way to survive!
3. Cinderella is dead by Kaylynn Bayron
(Paperback Edition)

What happens after Cinderella finds her prince? We’d all like to think they ran off into the sunset and the world was a better place, right? Follow Sophia on her journey, 200 years after Cinderella’s story, to dismantle the corrupt system of the Annual Ball where all girls are required to attend for men to select wives.
4. Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade
(Kindle Edition)

Everyone is loving the rom-com with cartoon covers genre recently and I can totally see why after reading The Spanish Love Deception and The Love Hypothesis. (Two of my other faves this year!) Meant for mature readers, follow the social media entangled love story between an actor and mega cos-play fan, Marcus and April.
5. we hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal
(Paperback Edition)

Winning tons of awards from The TIME Magazine Top 100 Fantasy Book of All Time to PopSugars’s Best YA Book of 2019, ‘We Hunt The Flame’ is a must-read for fantasy lovers! Follow the story of Zafira and Arc navigating and finding their places in the world while preparing for an upcoming war. Little does the world know, one of their famous heroes – Zafira – is actually a woman and needs to keep it that way.. (very much a fantasy version of Mulan but I loved it!)
6. Sky In The Deep by Adrienne Young
(Paperback Edition)

On the New York Times Best Seller list and written by the famous author of ‘Fable’ – Adrienne Young, everything about Sky in The Deep looks like it’s going to be a winner! Follow this Viking-Esque adventure of young heroine Eelyn as she fights for freedom among fellow clans… all while trying to fight the lure of her brother’s friend Fiske.
7. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
(Paperback Edition)

Kicking off the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard is ‘Red Queen’. With a 4.5 star rating from over eleven thousand reviewers, it’s safe to say that fantasy lovers will love this quick read! Follow Mare’s journey through princes and castles all to create a world where people are equal – without having to marry a prince!!
8. the Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis
(Paperback Edition)

A little bit of murder, a little bit of mystery, and just a whole lot to love in this contemporary thriller/romance read!!
9. the Grace Year by Kim Liggett
(Paperback Edition)

Part thriller and part fantasy, The Grace Year is a poignant tale of young women forced out of their communities to purge the magic running rampant through their veins. Tierney James wants to get back home and build a better life but she needs help… and she’s not sure where to find it.
10. Song of The Forever Rains by E.J. Mellow

Also free with Kindle Unlimited, follow this highly-rated fantasy masterpiece by E.J. Mellow. Larkyra Bassette has a singing voice that can slay monsters, but upon her first real mission to rid her kingdom of monsters.. she finds herself falling for one of the very people she should be running from!
